Car rental in Copenhagen is very easy. You will find all the major car rental agencies in both the city center and in the airport. You can rent cars from: Sixt, Hertz, Europcar, Budget and Avis. So if you prefer a specific agency (or if you have a deal), you can find them in Copenhagen.
All the car rental agencies are represented in the international part of Copenhagen Airport. The offices are located in the corridor between Terminal 2 and 3. When you have picked up your luggage and cleared the customs, turn left and walk 50 meters. Then you can see the car rental agency signs.
In the domestic part of the airport (Terminal 1), you can rent cars from Avis, Europcar and Hertz. If you prefer one of the others, you can just catch the free airport bus to Terminal 3. It will only take you a few minutes.
In the city center you can find all the agencies. They are all close to the Town Hall Square, the Main Station, the Tivoli Garden and a lot of the hotels.
If you are used to rent cars in the United States, you will probably find the car rental in Copenhagen pretty expensive. But there are ways to get a cheaper car.
Many car rental agencies have special, cheaper weekend offers. Another way to get a cheaper price is long term rental. Often you can rent a car for a week for the same price as 4 or 5 days. You can also find cheaper prices if you prepay it.
The cars in Denmark are also smaller than in many other countries (especially compared to the United States). But the distances in Denmark are short, so unless you are bringing a lot of luggage (or a big family), you do not need a large car.
If you prefer a big car, it is possible to find all the European luxury models in Copenhagen. That includes BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz. If you like to spoil yourself, rent a cabriolet in the summer. Or make your parking easier with a BMW Mini Cooper.
